An exciting battle between the tennis legends

Djokovic beat the American Frances Tiafoe 6-3 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 to reach the third round as he bids to win a record 9th Australian Open in Melbourne. The game lasted three and a half hours on-court in soaring temperatures. The Serbian said after his victory ‘’If I serve well, it does help me’’ he then goes onto say ‘’I mean, it is not only my opinion. I have been talking to a lot of players. I mean, you just must serve well. You can win a lot of free points there.” The climate begged the question of suitability as they were playing in Temperatures as high as 32°C. Murrays back in the field!

Andy Murray is back from his Covid-19 scare with a bang playing in the Challenger Biella in Italy. Although he’s back, he is still 16,000km away from where he would like to be. Speaking to the press, Murray’s brother said that ‘’he’s happy to be back playing’’. Murray won his first-round tie against Germany’s Maximilian Marterer to make his way to the round-of-16 where he will face Moroni. Moroni, who was born in Italy will be looking to make a stand in his home tournament.

Murray was disappointed not to be competing in the Australian Open but is looking to qualify for the next major tournament. The former World number 1 missed out on the Australian Open after testing positive for coronavirus last month. He was unable to find a ‘’workable quarantine’’ to play at the Australian Open. However, the Brit opened his 2021 season with a bang beating the German without facing a breakpoint and finishing within 130 minutes!
