Horror at Twickenham with Rugby!

19 February 2021

England put the previous weeks defeat to Scotland behind them with a six-try Rugby victory over Italy at Twickenham as Anthony Watson scored twice and Jonny May claimed a try after an acrobatic leap for the line. But it was not all great for England on Saturday. Jack Willis, the English flanker who came on for his debut and marked the occasion with a try did not leave the field as he may have liked on his first international cap. Willis suffered a serious knee injury after scoring his try. As a result of this, he has stretchered off the pitch. After being assessed he is said to miss the rest of the 2020/21 season through injury.

There has been yet another great week of fixtures in the 6 nations with a big Rugby game including France and Ireland. Ireland who came off the back of the 14-man defeat to Wales were looking to cause an upset and throw defeat at a French team that is looking the best it has been in a long time after the appointment of new defence coach Shaun Edwards. But it was the French that came off the field victorious after a thrilling encounter from both sides. France made it 2 victories out of 2 while Ireland remains without a win. The game ended 15-13 to France as they keep their Rugby Grand Slam aspirations alive.

And the final game, the game for the Doddy Weir trophy at Murrayfield in Scotland. Wales travelled to Murrayfield in good spirits after a win against Ireland. Scotland also in good spirits after their first victory in Twickenham for many years. It was Scotland who looked the strongest for most of the game, however, Fagerson’s shoulder charge to the head of Welsh prop Wyn Jones took the flying Scotsmen out of the sky as Wales then went on their way to defeat the Scots in their own backyard, avenging their defeat in the late six nations finale in the Autumn.
