Will the Red Dragons Secure the Triple Crown?

23 February 2021

With the sports Rugby, England head to Cardiff to be the latest of the four nations to try and take down the Red Dragons who are flying high in the six nations. Despite Wales’ good look in terms of form, they know they have had the rub of the red cards with both Ireland and Scotland playing large parts of the game with Red cards. Unfortunately for England, some Welsh stars have returned to training this week including star centres Jonathan Davies and Johnny Williams. However, full-back Leigh Halfpenny and winger Hallam Amos are still being assessed. Josh Adams, who has served his 2-match suspension for breaking protocol is also available.

England has called up Northampton scrum-half Alex Mitchell to replace the injured Harry Randall who suffered an ankle injury. Jack Willis who suffered a knee injury in England’s previous game has been replaced by George Martin. Sam Underhill has also pulled out the squad due to a hip injury that has previously ruled him out. All things considered, this is going to be the game of the week with all eyes on England looking to recover from their loss to Scotland and Wales will be looking to put their critics aside and win the triple-crown.

Ireland and Italy battle it out while France looks to extend their grand slam bid!

Ireland flies to Rome on Saturday to try and get back on winning tracks after losing their opening 2 fixtures of the 6 nations. They look to have quite a comfortable game against a young Italian side that are looking for their first win in the 6 nations for many years. Ireland will be without young winger Jacob Stockdale as he is omitted from the squad with injury.

Scotland also makes the journey across the channel to play against an in-form France who is odds-on favourites to win the grand slam and the championship. The game may be in doubt due to positive cases of covid-19 in the France camp. The decision will be made on Wednesday 24th of February of whether the game will go ahead or not. Some of the French staff that tested positive include scrum-half Antoine Dupont and Charles Ollivon.
