Several times, both Oranje Casino and Kroon Casino returned to the Netherlands. Online casino launches are scheduled for October 17 and 24, 2022. Betsson Group plans to launch Oranje Casino on October 17. Kroon casino is expected to be applied again a week later, on October 24. Both casinos offered gambling from 2014 to 2018 until the Gaming Authority imposed a fine on the parent company, Betsson.
The Swedish gambling company Betsson took over the casinos in February 2014 for € 130 million. Both online casinos were tolerated for a long time, ending in 2018. Betsson received a fine of no less than €300,000 from the Gaming Authority. Because of this, the company focused on the Dutch market without a license. In addition to this fine, Betsson received imposed a cooling-off period. The well-known betting company first wants to strike back with the Netherlands’ most famous brand: Oranje Casino. Very interesting to see what the dutch players will choose as their favourite legal bookmakers.
In 2019 Betsson decided to change the name of Kroon Casino to Casino Winner, and Oranje Casino changed to Loyal Casino. The fine nevertheless stood. With this, the Swedish company showed the Dutch authorities that Betsson intended to return to the market legally. So, according to various rumours, this will happen next month.
Earlier, the Betsson Group announced that the gambling company had applied for three licenses from the KSA. A permit for Kroon Casino, Oranje Casino and a license for the name Betsson.
